A new constitution was voted in the following years, tailor-made to allow the same generals to stay in power even after the election, as the entire senate, that participates in the nomination of the Prime Minister, is composed of military appointees.

I’ve been to several protests myself and in the largest gathering (September 19th) you could see young, families, aunties, grandmas… all generations.
