You can talk to him next time, and say, “I noticed that you do ….and I would appreciate it if you would ask me to unzip my own pants.” No one likes to feel like someone else is undressing them wi… 1. Holding eye contact is normal when a doctor is listening carefully to a patient. He has to be sure that he has properly heard and understood your symptoms. We automatically look at people when we listen to them. In my GP practice I have been seen by both male and female GPs – they all hold eye contact like this. It is normal. 2. If a doctor is checking anything around your head (e.g. ears, throat) he has to lean in close. When you say that he will ‘make sure his knee is touching mine” I feel you are reading this into the Blackcraftcult Goth Pro Shops Shirt but in fact I love this situation. If I counted the times that a GP came into slight bodily contact with me when making an examination (e.g. their arm touching mine when taking blood pressure) I’d be into the dozens, at least. 3. A brief touch to the arm or knee – especially after a joke – is not something I would regard as ‘flirting’. As another respondent has said here it is most likely to be a comforting gesture. If he had rested his hand on your knee, or stroked your face, or held your hand – then you would have something to be concerned about.

4. “He has children”. I don’t see how this has any bearing on whether or not he is flirting. Many people have children – it doesn’t make them more likely to be flirtatious. 5. Suggesting to your mother that his next consultation with you should be one-to-one is again quite normal. Perhaps he felt that your mother was speaking on your behalf too much? Maybe he felt that on your own you would speak more openly about your symptoms? However, if you still feel uncomfortable after considering all of this, then you could consider always having a friend/relative with you, or perhaps changing your GP. This is a great question because medical gaslighting is definitely getting more common. As a patient, I will constantly meet the Blackcraftcult Goth Pro Shops Shirt but in fact I love this doctors eyes. I will state facts and symptoms and how they made me feel physically and psychologically. I never tell the problems in story form. I never quote the internet to them. I do pretty heavy research before my appointment so that I can ask questions and if they don’t answer the way the internet did I will say that another doctor told me it was this way, is that true? In a case of a rude or dismissive doctor I will call them on all their b.s. I have no problem with it. I have mostly had great experiences with doctors because I follow my simple little rules and I always tell them thank you and I am very grateful. I did have one doctor who was very busy. He didn’t look at me and was looking at papers while listening to me. Nor did he ask me any questions and I could tell he was not at all caring about what was going on with me. I stopped talking. It took him a few moments and then he looked at me waiting for me. I told him I was waiting until he was finished reading and finishing his thoughts so he could focus on what I was saying. He kinda laughed and apologized and said he didn’t mean to appear that way. Then we went on to have a great appointment.
