Judges generally are neither stupid nor naïve. They know there are those who do that are generally either 1) starved for personal worth, so trying to attract attention like a bratty child, or 2) trying to escape jury duty. If it is the former, they are unworthy of participation in something as grown up as the trial system. If the latter, they may need to be educated in what contempt means. Either way, it is unlikely to occur twice, depending on how charitable the judge is feeling that day. Nothing. People don’t get dressed up for jury duty anymore. There are some things you just don’t want to do, though. You don’t want to wear shorts or tank-tops because the rooms are pretty cold. Plus, there are going to be a lot of people in there and you don’t want to risk catching something. You also want to wear socks because you may have to do quite a bit of walking.
