I think the president of a university sets the tone of what’s acceptable behavior on their campuses. If Dr. Grey’s position is that hate speech isn’t really hate speech unless it’s acted upon or you have to take it in context. I’m sorry but to me “Kill Jews!” is pretty much all the context one needs. As far as being pro-Palestinian, what I would like to see and hear from the protesters is the condemnation of Hamas. It’s as much Hamas as any group responsible for the deaths of Palestinian people today.

Hostility towards elite universities. I wish it were a sense of morality that guided university administration. I am pleased that Harvard is standing firm, but I doubt it is because of their love of justice, or Israel.
