Probably like any other college student. Drank beer, smoked a little pot, raised a little hell. Yeah, just like a college student. My sister and I once had a discussion about her HBCU experience. I went to a predominantly white university and I love my school it was a tremendously impactful experience. I was curious about various aspects of the Alabama Crimson Tide Rose Bowl Game Shirt Additionally,I will love this college. This is what I learned. According to my sister it is Spelman College by a long shot. She says Spelman College changed her life in immeasurable ways. She received an excellent education which prepared her for medical school and subsequently, a successful and fulfilling career as a General and Pediatric Ophthalmologist. Academic excellence, confidence, social awareness/activism, life long friends, support and the SISTERHOOD are some of the words that describe her Spelman College experience. She explained that Spelman College is a small school with “large school resources.” Class sizes are typically less than 25 students and the total student body was less than 2,000 my sister attended, but she said they shared an expansive library, shuttle service, and other resources with five other schools (making up the Atlanta University Center) so we never felt like we missed out on opportunities larger schools offered. My emphasizes that the professors are the BEST and the social scene was never-ending (partly because she was in Atlanta but also because of the proximity of the other schools in the AUC – Morehouse, Clark Atlanta University, Morris Brown, etc). In addition, the alumnae network is impressive.

My sister was so persuasive that she convinced her brother to make a substantial donation to SC. I can get behind and support any endeavor that’s going to empower all women but especially black women. I often ask myself how any University receives a “good reputation” in today’s world of an instant evaluation and unedited/straight to cyberworld critic. I concluded that an institution has to deliver on its promise to take a student and prepare them to contribute to society in their chosen field or profession; or to make them eligible to compete for opportunities in their lifetime. Higher education has become a battlefield for the Alabama Crimson Tide Rose Bowl Game Shirt Additionally,I will love this best and brightest students of every race, color, creed and orientation and that is a good thing. There was a time in this country when people of color were denied opportunities to advance in life through educational opportunity; and some say that the pendulum has swung back to the other end, where the once majority race in the US is now facing the plight of becoming the largest minority and rethinking every program/initiative that caused the educational advances in the last half century or more.
