Me: a medical student in my early 20’s, waiting in line for a train at a small-town railway station; fatigued already from chronic sleep deprivation- late nights of prep for an interminable slew of exams- you can’t dam a glacier!; full days of clinicals at the Gotham FC 11.11 Finals Era Shirt and I love this hospital, afternoon -evening lectures- the usual rigors of final years of med school. An old clock ticked away in clear sight- each inaudible beat signaling the imminent closure of the counter. Those that do not make it to the window in time get turned away, notwithstanding the arduous wait, the sweltering heat, the miasmic vapors of perspiration, the mosquito bites, the time putndown or the frustration built up.

To my dreary senses he took on the Gotham FC 11.11 Finals Era Shirt and I love this visage of a bird of prey, perched to pounce upon the weakest in the flock, at the slightest sign of weakness or inattention. ‘He can’t be serious’? I questioned, yet found no satisfying affirmation. So I kept my vigil on his motions and my mind on his motives-nefarious or not. Just as the lady in front of me made it to the window distractedly rummaging through her handbag, my suspicion seemed true. The man made his move and attempted to cut right ahead of her! We were travelling from Hurghada to Cairo and since it s a 5-hour trip, I was smart enough to drink too much water before it. 1 hour passed and my bladder was on the edge of exploding – so my mother went to the driver to ask him to stop somewhere so I can pee. After arguing with him for 10 minutes, she gave up, took me by my hand and we both jumped out the bus and I finally peed. Needless to say both the passengers and the driver were impressed and scared at the same time. Good times.
