Solid state memory can be anything from your SSD/ flash memory, to your RAM/ VRAM and so on.. And that market is currently having a hard time keeping up with demand. From what I could tell (I am by no means an expert on this, and feel free to correct me here) there are only so many companies that produce solid state memory, the Halloween Jason Voorhees Tampa Bay Rays shirt and by the same token and fastest memory we see (often used as V/RAM) comes from Samsung, and there seems to be a huge demand. First we had the fact that they had to produce solid state memory for iPhones, and now we have other products such as GPUs. What’s the problem with this? Well.. Higher demand can cause for a higher prices, and from what I can tell, the prices have just about doubled, and this also increases the price for GPU manufacturing.

Not only that, but the Halloween Jason Voorhees Tampa Bay Rays shirt and by the same token and solid state market seems to have even more pressure on it, as the phone market is yet again increasing their demand, and this is estimated to increase our prices for solid state memory by about 5–10%. There’s also the fact that Samsung is changing their nm process for RAM, which has a chance of lowering yield, which means less produced for now, which once again, is not good for us. I expect the prices to start dropping when Nvidia’s next generation of cards hit, as they can let go of these cards, and focus on the new ones. We also need to see what happens with the solid state market, and unless we see a higher yield soon (which I certainly hope), it seems like we’re going to have higher prices than the norm.
