In fact, I am a better, stronger, and happier man having overcome that most painful episode of my life. I am now just past my fortieth anniversary of my marriage to my first and only wife. By all outward appearances we are a very happy and well adjusted couple with two married adult children and five grandchildren. That characterization is a pretty accurate assessment of our current situation. However, that most definitely was not always the case.
