There is no additional money for that, but each team in the playoffs gets additional revenue from hosting playoff games – the rules vary by sport – but being in the playoffs is lucrative. ESPN already has a tendency to harp on specific players and topics (i.e. Tebow, thanks Skip Bayless). If they had their own team, I’m sure they would throw them in your face to the point that you might actually give Fox Sports 1 a chance.
