RIP Tony Bennett 1926 2023 Shirt
While looking for images to make my point, I stumbled across this lovely collection which is basically every time Kirk rips his shirt. Think about it from the RIP Tony Bennett 1926 2023 Shirt But I will love this perspective of the show’s producers. William Shatner in his prime was not a bad looking dude, and this was going to be a show where you had to appeal to the mass market audience and to nerds, so you need someone who’s got a brain and is capable of beating up a dude in a rubber alien suit. By having Kirk lose his shirt, it does two things: it shows him injured but still capable of fighting, so he’s a manly man, it gets his shirt off so it keeps the women happy, and even without a shirt he’s got his brain working for him, so it keeps the nerds happy. He’s not built like a modern day body builder, because then people wouldn’t believe he’s smart. He’s not a spindly geek either because people would think him weak. He strikes that balance of All American Man that can do anything he sets his mind to, and that was exactly the image they were going for.

The uniforms in the RIP Tony Bennett 1926 2023 Shirt But I will love this first season of TOS were made of a type of satin velour that was actually lime green; the lighting gels and cameras of the era filtered this color and made it appear on film as less greenish, but it was in fact practically the same color as the wrap-around tunic, which was made of a lighter material. The problem was that the velour was hot, and after a few episodes, it got kinda stinky, so they washed it… and it shrank, meaning that new shirts were needed. Having experienced the problems of the satin velour, they made the new ones out of a double-knit fabric that was practically identical in color, but, as before, the lighting gels and cameras of the era filtered this color and made it appear on film as yellow/gold. It should be noted that both basic tunic versions and all wrap-around versions are practically the same color: lime green. it is the cameras which make them look different.
