True West Cornel West For President T-Shirt

True West Cornel West For President T-Shirt

Maybe they got the True West Cornel West For President T-Shirt it is in the first place but shirt for free. They could know someone in the band or have worked as a roadie or even just security for the band and were given the shirt as a perk. Maybe it was a hand-me-down or otherwise once belonged to a sibling they love. Maybe their boyfriend or girlfriend feels they look hot in the shirt… or maybe it was bought for them when they went to a concert by a musician they didn’t personally like, but their significant other wanted them to share with them. Maybe they are poor and needed some cheap T-shirts and the thrift store didn’t happen to have a great selection. Maybe they like the design or the artist who did the design. I don’t know… there could be any number of reasons. I fail to see how it’s my place to judge other people’s clothing choices at all. Besides, assuming the shirt wasn’t stolen (from the band itself), the band got paid and their name is being “put out there” and advertised for free, which is basically why band shirts exist in the first place.

Official True West Cornel West For President T-Shirt

I get that some fans feel a certain “ownership” over their favorite musicians and I can see why they might look down on people who pretend to be fans of an underground band when really they aren’t but it’s a slippery slope from pride to pretention. When does a person earn the True West Cornel West For President T-Shirt it is in the first place but right to own a band shirt? Do they have to own more than one album by the band or is just one enough? Do they have to have seen the band in concert? Surely there’s more “integrity” to a shirt bought at the concert than one bought online but for truly underground bands, they might not tour certain areas of the country. Or certain countries. What if I stopped listening to Metallica when they went pop in 1991 but I still have my …And Justice for All shirt from when I was in high school (yes, I went to the concert)… can my nephew wear it when he’s old enough or will people judge him too?
