The Mission Band Art Shirt

Rashguards have evolved far beyond their use in surfing to protect the The Mission Band Art Shirt Also,I will get this skin against rashes from contact with the wax on surfboards. They also protect against sunburn, add enough flotation to bring you to the surface if necessary, provide marketing space for brandnames, and can be a fashion statement. I like to wear white ones because a) they are the coolest color in the sun and b) the contrast with my exposed skin makes my exposed skin look darker while hiding my lily white torso, so I look more local than I really am while bodysurfing or surfing in Hawaii. So, no, they are not weird. Allowing yourself to be sunburned needlessly is not a healthy or pleasant practice. Also, if they help anybody get some healthy exercise because they otherwise would feel exposed to ridicule – that is a good thing.

Official The Mission Band Art Shirt

We live in a society that is heavily built on male hegemony (i.e., male dominance over women). As a result, anything that has been socially and largely attributed to women is considered emasculating, i.e., bad, wrong, etc. (Also see: Renaudo Robinson’s answer to Why is it so much less controversial to talk about masculinity/femininity in lesbian spaces than gay (men’s) spaces? ). That’s largely why fashion trends for men tend to be much more rigid than they are for women. That said, some men, such as myself, do wear heels. (Photos below.) Basically, I don’t care about women’s vs. men’s clothing. If it looks good, and I look good in it, I wear it. I have no desire to limit myself based on some socially-constructed idea of what men and women are supposed to do and wear.
